  1. THIS IS NOT A LOVE STORY

It is a series of charcoal drawings portraying roses in bloom. For nearly 25 years, I’ve been collecting photographs — and one recurring image stands out: blooming roses held in the hands of young people. Women dressed in white, men in grey suits, holding roses with quiet intent. There’s something fragile, beautiful, and undeniably melancholic about these moments. They all stand still, faces serious — but it’s not the faces I care about. What draws me in are the hands. The way they hold the flowers. The intimate tension where thorn meets skin. That brief, intense moment when beauty becomes danger.

This is not a love story.
